Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God.
"Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” (CCC 1213)
St. Louis Catholic Church provides Baptsims for families that are registered parishioners. We are excited to walk with you in planning your child's bapstim. Both parents and godparents are required to attend a Baptism class, before the child's baptism. For Children ages 7 and older (or those who have reached the age of reason) or for adults seeking Baptism, an age appropiate formation process will be required. Ideally parents should try to have children baptized as soon as possible after birth. There are many reasons to have your child baptized soon after birth. Most importantly at Baptism your child will recieve Baptismal Grace, which frees them from original sin. The graces of Baptism also enable the child to believe in God, to hope in Him, and to love Him through the theological virtues, gives them power to live and act under the prompting of the Holy Spirit through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and allows them to grow in goodness through the moral virtues.
